Lillian Lee: Fostering a Happy Learning Environment

Lillian Lee 480x260Lillian Lee, Human Resources Assistant Manager at Shenzhen Plastic, says the best part about her job is helping people grow and be happy. By challenging themselves and each other, her team’s project provided learning opportunities for employees so they can continue their career development and growth at Jabil.

The motivation for their project came in May 2014, when the Shenzhen site joined Apple’s Supplier Employee Education and Development (SEED) program. This program offers digital classes in language, technical and software skills to factory employees.

With a focus on continuous improvement, Lee and her team wanted to take this program a step further. The team aimed to reduce turnover rate among young employees, increase equipment usage, enhance average training hours and achieve customer satisfaction, all while fostering a happy learning environment.

Their project, “Be a Happy Learning SEED,” achieved all of their target goals while encompassing the three aspects of Jabil’s culture: Integrity, Inspiration and Ingenuity. Lee says her favorite thing about Jabil’s culture is the “work hard, play hard” mentality.

Representing her team in the Human Development category of this year’s Deliver Best Practices Competition, Lee says she is very proud of her team and excited to see their dream come true.
