Una Lin: Meeting and Exceeding Customer Demands

Una Lin 2 - 480x260Una Lin’s favorite thing about Jabil’s culture is delighting our customers, which is exactly what she and her team did with their “Watch Us Grow” project in this year’s Deliver Best Practices competition.

After Lin found out her team was advancing to the global competition, she went around screaming, “Oh, yeah! We got the ticket to St. Pete!” However, this isn’t Lin’s first visit to the Deliver Best Practices Competition. After joining Jabil in 2011, this Inventory Analyst at Jabil’s Taichung Tooling site represented her team in the 2012 competition, bringing home first place for the Social & Environmental Responsibility category. This year she represented her team in the Customer Satisfaction category.

By challenging themselves, her team sought to meet customer demand by creating a special device to separate plastic and metal pieces from one another during the manufacturing process of GPS sports watches. The team’s project improved yield rate from 30 to 97 percent while improving cycle time from 120 seconds to 64 seconds.

This impressive solution positions Taichung Tooling as an exclusive supplier in the wearable industry, which is expected to be $4 trillion by 2020.

Although Lin believes success is being proud of yourself regardless of a project’s end result, it’s clear she has plenty to be proud of in her career at Jabil.
